Debate #1 ... NOBODY WON (Nobody Lost Either)

Okay ...We've all seen the first Presidential debate between Senators Barack Obama and John McCain.

Like many ... I was not all too impressed by either candidate. However, the fact remains that I know who I'm going to vote for as does 99% of everyone else. We all know who we're going to vote for and why we're not going to vote for the other person. This leads me to my next point.

What sickens me most is that all of these politicians have their heads so far up their asses and are spending so much time trying to be so much more intellectually superior to their opponents that we ... "the common folk," are sitting here looking at these people as though they are greater or better than any of us. With that said ... the true victim - no - the true casualty is none other than "common sense."

It's no big secret ... I'm going to vote for Barack Obama; however, what is also no big secret is that I'm not just "rolling with the brother because he's a brother." In fact, (and also not a secret) he was not my first choice on the Democratic ticket - but that's a moot point now. What is ironic is that the harshest criticisms I have about Obama's campaign have thus far proven to be his most successful tactics. What I have noticed is that during the primaries, he played his position very humble and safe. He distanced himself from anyone around him who was deemed a threat to the sensibilities of white America. Now, many white Americans hate when I say things like that, but oh well ... the only reason they're offended is because it's true. Just like when you pull up a girl's skirt ... she's offended and violated because - even if for only a brief moment - you exposed her "truth."

Anyway ... back to the debate. This is my harshest criticism ... Every time that Obama said, “Senator McCain is right” I caught a nasty twitch in my eye. I’m sorry ... when I’m debating a person – very rarely will I acknowledge anything they’re right about. Obama said that McCain was right seven times. Now, after each time he said McCain was right about something, he followed up with something that found McCain lacking. Unfortunately, none of that stuff mattered. The only thing the Republicans heard was a concession on Obama’s part whereas McCain conceded nothing.

HOWEVER ... remember what I said ... the harshest criticisms I have about Obama's campaign have thus far proven to be his most successful tactics. Overall, Barack showed that he can still prove his point without being condescending. You see, when you come UP from the bottom; if you have a pure heart, it’s hard for you to look down on others with disdain and condescension. But on the other hand, when you’ve lived a life of privilege (especially “white privilege”) you’re raised to believe that there are people who are beneath you – both black and white.

Keep this in mind ... How many times did McCain express an interest in Middle Class America? ZERO. What did McCain say about bringing our troops home? Nothing ... but he’s proud to wear the bracelet of a dead soldier (Obama pissed me off with that “I’ve got a bracelet too” shit). In the end, the Republicans will believe that McCain did no wrong and the same applies for the Democrats, and that’s why I say that neither candidate won that debate nor did either of them lose it.

But RIGHT HERE ... RIGHT NOW, I am going to share with you the exact moment in the debate where Obama missed the perfect killing blow.

Unlike McCain, Obama is very adept to how to use a computer. He does not need his advisors to tell him how important YouTube is to the campaign. There is a video on YouTube called "McCain Lost in Space." In this clip, there are various instances where McCain said one thing and then he said another thing which contradicted the first thing.

Do you remember the part in the debate when McCain tried to boast his "experience" by naming all of the places he traveled to - including Iraq? Well ... right then and there, that would have been the perfect time for Obama to say this ... "So John, was it on that trip to Iraq where you said the streets were safe to walk on without body armor, but you were filmed wearing body armor surrounded by a hundred heavily armed soldiers and Blackhawk & Apache combat choppers above you? How much did THAT cost the taxpayers? Or that General Patraeus goes out in an unarmed hum-vee, afterwhich it was later proven that Patraeus travels in nothing less than an up-armored hum-vee?" Or how about this ... "What good were you planning to bring to the economic talks in Washington when you've said that you know less about economics than you know about military and foreign affairs and that you still have to be eduacted about the economy?"

You see ... Here is McCain's fatal flaw ... When he's caught up in some bullshit, he catches a hot "Oh Shit - What the Fuck?!" moment and he's stuck. It's only for a quick two or three seconds, but those two or three seconds can be an eternity when you have that deer caught in the headlights look on your face.

But remember what I said ... the harshest criticisms I have about Obama's campaign have thus far proven to be his most successful tactics. This was only the first debate. Now, I don't know what the hell McCain is doing, but ultimately I think that Obama is playing it close to the vest. As much as I want him to just dig into McCain's ass, I believe that his team's mantra is "slow and steady wins the race," and (I pray that) it will be during the debates in October that Obama really digs in and goes for McCain's jugular. I can appreciate his dignified approach, but dignity isn't much comfort if you've lost.

The Republicans care nothing about dignity. They fight to win ... and even when they lose they keep fighting. Just look at the entire eight years of Bill Clinton's presidency. I guarantee you that should Barack Obama win, they will stop at nothing to attempt to discredit him. The fight is on, and he has to let them know who "the man" really is!

Time will tell ...
Let's see what goes down in the debate between the Pit Bull from Delaware & the stewardess from Alaska!
