WHY CAN'T WE JUST TELL THE TRUTH?!

Let me ask that question again ...
"Why can't we just tell the truth?"

Well, here's an answer - I don't think you'll care for it too much though ... I believe that we can't tell the truth because the truth hurts too much. People don't want to be seen in an unfavorable light, so they will sacrifice their true feelings for a false appearance. In the past several months, and especially in the most recent weeks, we've seen the people pictured above talk a lot of smack ... EACH OF THEM!!

Personally, I have been disgusted at how Sen. Obama has had to just suck up all of the crap that has been dealt his way during this campaign. I understand why he had to do it on the surface, but I also understand why he had to do it overall. You see, on the surface, Sen. Obama has to show that he can roll with the punches that supposedly come with the job of trying to get the job of President of the United States. However, the true reality is that he cannot win this election riding the black vote alone; therefore, he is going to have to appease a vast majority of white Americans. That being the case, he has had to fall back and smile and put on the show that all of the B.S. thrown at him can roll off his back like water down a duck's, instead of aggressively defending himself - and even more - aggressively attacking his opponents.

Let's be honest here ... and I've asked this question before ...

Were it one of Obama's daughters who was a soon to be an unwed teen mother, with all kinds of pictures of her drinking underage and brandishing firearms - would the McCain/Palin campaign and the Republican Party be so respectful as to not touch upon families as has ALWAYS been common practice? HELL NO ... but if the Obama campaign were to take advantage of that situation, it would be nothing more than a black man attacking a white woman.

A few months ago, Michelle Obama - in supporting her husband - said, "For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country." Within hours - if not the next day, she had to give a soft-shoe dance of an explanation about her statement. With all due respect to Mrs. Obama, the explanation was bullsh%t. I do apologize for the bluntness of that statement, but let's be real here. Michelle Obama knows the history of this country and it's treatment of her people during the course of that history. The success she and especially her husband have been able to enjoy has not come because of America's so-called history of greatness - but in spite of it.

On that note:

Let's look at America's great history ... of slavery.
Let's look at America's great history ... of cheating the indigenous NATIVE American out if their land.
Let's look at America's great history ... of segragation.
Let's look at America's great history ... of Jim Crow.
Let's look at America's great history ... of lynching people of color.
Let's look at America's great history ... of bombing churches and homes.
Let's look at America's great history ... of building its wealth off of the backs of blacks, asians, & latinos.
Let's look at America's great history ... of waging wars against Nations that have done nothing directly to us (Japan doesn't count. After Pearl Harbor, they deserved that ass kicking).

However, despite all of this "great history," Barack Obama may very well become he first African American President of the United States ... HELL ... for the first time in MY adult life I'm proud of this country.

The truth is that in the eyes of many Americans, Barack Obama is not supposed to be who and what he is. Again, if the tables were turned and the Obama/Biden ticket consisted of the top of the ticket having graduated 5th from the bottom of his class, and his running mate having had to spend six years at five different schools to get a degree that has absolutely nothing to do with government ... well there never would have even been such a ticket.

You know, it's one thing to see people on television say that they believe that Sarah Palin is capable of leading this country; after all not everything on television is real, but today I had someone tell me so right up and straight forward. Disagree with him - I might ... but he was honest ... or at least as honest as he could be and still keep the peace.

I have made the decision to (try to) refrain from further blogs about this election UNTIL this election is over. Last night, I watched the 3rd and final debate. My wife decided to do something else. When I asked her why she didn't want to watch it she told me that the debate was for those people who didn't know who they wanted to vote for; and since she she already knows for herself, she had better things to do ... again, more honesty.
I believe I have expressed myself honestly from day one. Quite frankly, there's nothing much more to say ... that is ... until November 5th.

In the meantime ... like my wife, since I already know who I'm going to vote for, I'm going to find some better things to do.
