This afternoon, I had the privilege of attending a taping of MTV's "Run's House" at the world famous SOB's dinner club - which also doubled as a listening party for the upcoming album from Rev. Run's son's group, TEAM BLACKOUT.
Although they had the crowd jumping & screaming from the moment they got on the stage up until the moment they stepped off the stage, these three young men are just as humble off-stage as they are bold on-stage.
My (Groove) brother Mike (above/left), who is the head of A&R at Latchkey Recordings not only introduced me to TEAM BLACKOUT, but he also introduced me to Rev. Run! Not only did I give the young boys copies of my book, Find A Way to Make A Way!, I also gave Rev. Run a copy and when he learned that it was a motivational/inspirational book, he looked me square in the eyes and said, "I LOVE INSPIRATIONAL BOOKS!! Yo ... I'm going to read this all the way home!"
Unfortunately, because he was about to get into the limo when we were introduced we couldn't get a picture together, but don't be surprised if when watching the show and they have him in his living room, he's reading Find A Way instead of fiddling with his Blackberry!

You know this means he's going to be quoting you on his show and such. On another note you're a great mentor for young people you want to make changes in their lives.
