God's "1 - 2 Punch"

Bernard Jeffrey McCullough (October 5, 1957 - August 9, 2008)
"Bernie Mac"
Isaac Lee Hayes, Jr. (August 20, 1942 - August 10, 2008)
"Black Moses"
R.I.P.

This past weekend has been a tremendous blow to the black community as we have lost two brothers who have entertained us and made our darkest days (& nights) a lot brighter. It was bad enough losing Bernie Mac, but then to lose "Black Moses" the very next day ...

DAMN! DAMN!! DAMN!!!

My body hurts. I'm shook. This is a "1 - 2 Punch" that has taken a whole people and knocked us down for the count. Ahhh ... but we've been beaten and knocked down before, and as a people we have risen time, and time, and time again. This time shall be no different. We will celebrate their lives more than we will mourn their deaths, and we will focus on the joy they gave us - because they never let us down.

If you think times are hard here, imagine how hard things must be up in Heaven with God having to watch over all this nonsense going on down here. God needed some heavy laughs topped off with some "hot buttered soul," and what God wants - GOD GETS.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND ...
ONLY God has the power to show you just who is God!

Harold,

I agree that America has lost two representations of accomplished success within the African American community. Our lost is hopefully Heaven's gain.

I pray for comfort and peace for their families. I hope that their life values can be translated into practical life applications which will be replicated by their families and become a lasting legacy for all.
