What Ever Happened to "SUPPORT THE OFFICE NOT THE MAN?!"

Yesterday, I made the following statement on my Facebook page:

"Proof that Racism is alive: The Republican Party would rather NOT support the President, wish to see him fail, then blame him for it."

Of the two responses I got, one response kind of set me off. By the time I was done responding to it, I figured it would be more beneficial if I made use of my response by posting it here.

Here is the response that set me off (out of respect for both that person's opinion & privacy, I am not citing his name):

"Don't believe all the sensationalism in the media. Everyone should be held accountable. If Obama reached out "sincerely" there would be more support"

And now ... to use one of my favorite Samuel L. Jackson quotes, "Well ... allow me to retort!"

Last night I watched an HBO documentary called "RIGHT AMERICA: Feeling Wronged" which was about how most of white America felt about Pres. Obama winning the election. I strongly recommend anyone & everyone - black or white - who believes that this election has truly changed race relations watch this documentary.

When G. Dubya was president & messing everything up, if you said anything against him you were unpatriotic. For example, the Dixie Chicks' career went straight down the tubes when they spoke out against him, but Rush Limbaugh can say that he hopes Pres. Obama fails and he's just exercising his right to free speech. When G. Dubya was president & messing everything up, most of white America was on some "SUPPORT THE OFFICE NOT THE MAN" nonsense; however, many people - black & white - share the belief that "if Obama reached out 'sincerely' there would be more support." Who did G. Dubya "sincerely" reach out to?

This is the blowback from how Pres. Obama ran his campaign, and I knew it would come. He won the election by not being "the ANGRY Negro;" however, no one messes with "the ANGRY Negro." He won the election by being "the SAFE Negro;" however, everyone craps on "the SAFE Negro." He walked a thin tightrope to win the election, but now those chickens are coming home to roost. Don't misunderstand me ... I'm all for Pres. Obama reversing all of G. Dubya's "bass-ackwards" policies, but what I'm against is the hypocrisy that has become the American way of life leading up to it.

For example, how many SITTING presidents have so consistently been referred to as "Mister" and not "President?" I don't mean the term "Mr. President," I'm talking about people who still refer to Pres. Obama as "Mr. Obama." Even after being impeached, people still referred to Clinton as "Pres. Clinton," and even after resigning in shame Nixon was still referred to as "Pres. Nixon."

I understand that Pres. Obama did what he had to do in order to win the election, but now that he has the job, I would really like to see some BLACK-bone coming out of the White House. If G. Dubya could exercise his power and tell everyone to kiss his ass without actually saying the words, then I see no reason why Pres. Obama can't tell his detractors and opponents to fall back, fall in line, or just fall the "F" off ... without actually saying the words.

You can't please everyone, and you can't beat everyone, but one thing is tried and true ... when you walk up and knock the sh%t out of the biggest dude in the group, it gives everyone else a moment of pause.

Pres. Obama needs to give his detractors & opponents a moment of pause.

Amen, and I remember that whole "support the office" BS they tried to shove down our throats while Bush was Fing up royally. The man would realistically be indicted for SEVERAL war crimes if he were not the Pres of the US and we had to support the office!

Now we're treading through one of the worst economic situations thanks to him and people are allowed to say they hope Obama fails! Are you kidding? What if I said I hope the US had another 9/11 to prove Bush's diplomacy was failing while he was in office? Free speech right? Come on now.

Also, that Mr. Obama mess bothers me too.
