Rising & Falling ... Accountability and the Daringness to Succeed

Our society is one of envy and hate. The media takes someone on the rise and embraces them. It gives them warmth as they rise and rise and rise. However, the rise is only temporary because after all, we are only human and there is only so high we're going to be able to go before the most basic of the laws of physics kicks in: What goes up MUST come down.

A lot of times - especially in the celebrity world, a person - especially a young person - spends so much time working on rising and enjoying the ride of rising that they are not prepared for the eventual fall. A perfect example happens to be to Brittany Spears & Christina Aguillera.

Spears came out on the scene first and blew up. When Christina came out she began to get her rise on too (it helped that she is actually talented). Over the years, Spears went up like a Roman candle - and like all Roman candles, she fizzled out at a high altitude. Now, as she's trying to make her "comeback," it's like a person trying to relight the remains of that Roman candle expecting the same results - not taking into consideration that what made that Roman candle so potent is now gone.

Aguillera on the other hand came out with a project or two, then ducked down. She'd take a year or so off, then pop back up. She went from the teeny-bopper to being "dirty" (even recording with Redman in a song of the same title), then she was "beautiful," then she was on that "Lady Marmalade" joint. Now she's an expectant mother, and no one is giving her grief ... not the kind that Spears got and gets.

Bringing it "back home," take a look at Beyonce'. Why should she be hated on because she blew up over the other ladies in Destiny's Child? Of the original group, her parents Matthew & Tina Knowles put EVERYTHING on the line to create and fulfill THEIR "Child's Destiny." Naturally, they're going to look out for THEIR child's benefit over the others. Just look at how they turned out. The two ladies that quit weren't getting that Beyonce' attention and bounced. Kelly was the truest "rider" of the group which is why she is where she is and Michelle stayed in her lane for as long as there was a lane for her to stay in.

I am certain that when they were children, there were people all around Houston hating on the Knowles family. I am sure that they called Matthew all kinds of names and ridiculed him for quitting his job to professionally manage his daughter's career (oh yeah her friends too). I am sure that there were plenty of people who talked a lot of crap about Tina being a fool for marrying a man she had to support for all of those (what I like to call) "years on the grind."

BUT LOOK AT THE END RESULT ... Who had the last laugh?

Let's take a look at relationships! Brad Pitt & Jennifer Anniston - both good talents and decent people for the most part, were a very attractive couple - and were great for and with one another as long as they kept the media out, but when they allowed the media more access into their relationship certain seeds were planted and their marriage eventually fell apart.

Beyonce' and Jay-Z on the other hand, spent nearly two years - maybe longer - neither confirming or denying their relationship, all the while building it up and the world resented their burgeoning relationship because THEY could not see inside. When they did come out about their relationship it was already obvious there was one, but what was also obvious was that what THEY do for and to one another is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS.

When you control your own rise, you make it harder for the haters to BRING you down.

It's easier to blame everyone else for our mishaps, but no matter what - when you're all alone in the darkness of your existence - you know what you are at fault for. People know what they need to do to better their lives, but their either too lazy or too afraid to tap into that virtually bottomless well of greatness that exists for us all.

Laziness and fear are two of the top reasons why 90% of the world's wealth is owned by 10% of the people. This is why success is so rare and fleeting ... It takes hard work to become and remain successful. It is NOT an easy task, for if it were, everyone would be doing it! Since everyone cannot, and the majority of us WILL NOT work to achieve success, that will insure the fact that all that glitters will be reserved for the "select few" willing to ignore and step over those who hinder their advancement regardless of the field.

Remember ...
Fortune Favors the Brave!
