Hey Friends ... I know I've been away for a minute. I'll try not to stay away so long in the future.
Right now I'd like to address my views about this upcoming presidential election. Often times I express views that put my "ghetto pass" at risk - this may be no different.
Originally, Barack Obama was not my number one choice for this campaign. Truth be told, I liked what Dennis Kucinich had to offer somewhat more than Barack. Unfortunately (for Mr. Kucinich), Barack has more popularity, momentum; and most importantly, money and as a result had to drop out.
My main contention has always been that my choice for this country's next president would be the one with the best exit plan to get our troops back home and out of Iraq. Originally, Barack was not saying what I wanted to hear & Kucinich was. Now, even though Kucinich is now out of the picture, Obama is now talking about pulling our troops out expeditiously ... and I am happy; therefore, I am now endorsing Barack Obama for president of the United States of America.
Hillary Clinton recently said, "It took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush, and it looks like it'll need a Clinton to clean up after this Bush," and that statement right there is exactly why Hillary Clinton should not become our next president. America is NOT a monarchy. There is no place for even the hint of "royalty" or "nobility" amongst our national leadership. We've had four years of "Big Daddy" Bush, eight years of "Slick Dick Willy" Clinton, and now almost eight years of dumb ass "G-Dubya." And now Hillary wants to take over "the family business?" As far as I'm concerned, the Kennedys is as close to "royalty" this country has ever gotten - and that was before my time.
Both Barack & Hillary are talking about "change," but look at the the last two sentences above and ask yourselves ... who is most capable of effecting change ... a grass-roots organizer who has succeeded and excelled despite having been raised in impoverished and foreign cultures, or a legal eagle who's number one claim to fame is already having lived in the White House for 8 years, and a couple of terms in the Senate? Let's keep it real shall we?!
The only way we will see any true effective change is if there is someone in the White House who has not been a prior resident. The only way we will see any true change is if we change the color of leadership so that the world can see that white is not always right. The fact of the matter is that if you take up and compare the numbers between people of color and those without; you will find that on a global scale, people of color are not the "minority."
In closing ... this has never been a black or white issue to me. Remember, the man I was originally behind is not black. What I want in a president is a person who will do what is best to bring this country of hypocrites together as best as humanly possible. It is my belief that Barack Obama is such a person.
Take Care & Remember ...
Fortune Favors the Brave!
