Harris School of Business (Part II)

This past friday I had the honor of speaking before a few of the recent graduates and externs at the Harris School of Business in Hamilton, NJ. I was asked to really stress the importance of digging in and appreciating the struggle involved with going out into the workforce - whether it was for the first time (for some), or after choosing a new career path (for others).

This was not like the last time I spoke for HSB, when I delivered the commencement keynote address at their Linwood, NJ campus last November. This was more like part of a workshop/job fair they had going on. I truly enjoyed this experience because it was a bit more personable. Whereas I was speaking before just over 150 people in Linwood, here I was speaking before about 20 people. The most rewarding part of the entire experience was afterwards when a young lady came up to me, looked me square in the eye and said ... "I just want to thank you for what you said because you really touched me."

I sold and signed a few books too, but when I'm speaking somewhere, nothing is more gratifying to me than having a face in the crowd make him- or herself known to em and tell me how I moved them to be and do better ... just by speaking to them!

And to think ... I'm still a baby as a motivational speaker.
