Turn Your Haters into Motivators!

In my book, "Find a Way to Make a Way - You're Either Part of the Problem or Part of the Solution," I wrote a chapter about a group of people that we all have in our lives. I called them "Bubble Busters." In a speech I delivered just last month, I spoke of another group of people that we also have in our lives. I called them "Haters."

"Bubble Busters" are the ones who when you get excited about following a particular dream or achieving a particular goal, tell you why THEY THINK you can't do what you set out to do. These are the people who aren't doing anything to better themselves and work hard at convincing you that you don't need to either. In other words ... the perfect epitome of "Misery Loves Company."

"Haters" ... these are people cut from the same cloth as "Bubble Busters," but they bear a little difference. Bubble Busters are people you know, whereas Haters could be anyone anywhere throwing dirt on your name and on your game while you're striving to do your thing. They do this for the same reason that "Bubble Busters" look to - well ... bust your bubble - they do this because they don't have a large vision for themselves, so there's no way possible that they can have a large vision for you & share in the vision you have for yourself.

When I wrote my book, people on my job ridiculed me. Only problem is ... none of them had the ... heart, manhood ... hell - BALLS ... to do it to my face. When I first created my blog page (www.HRJR.blogspot.com), before I put security features on my blog page, there were a couple of times when I got hateful responses to my blogs. Early one morning after, deleting a couple of "negative" postings I received on my blog, I went in to work to find my website (from which my blog can be accessed) on the computer screen in the squad room.

There were people who told me that there were others talking about me behind my back, but I never even counted them as being any kind of friend, because a friend would not only tell you THAT people are talking about you behind your back; a friend is going to tell you WHO is talking about you behind your back. But dig this here ... I have done something that none of those clowns have. I have created and contributed something of value to the universe and to those who have benefitted from it. The people who have ridiculed me have done nothing for anyone other than themselves. All they know is what they think they see in front of them.

In other words ... they’re living in the Matrix.

If you’ve got something that you want to do. If there is a certain type of person that you want to become who is better than the man or woman that you are today. Don’t allow those Bubble Busters and haters to deter you. In fact, take all of that negative energy and file it away in the back of your mind. Put it in a cabinet labeled, “Just Wait & See,” and as you strive onward to becoming more than who and or what you are today. Access that file during your hard times. Know that every time you think about quitting or even procrastinate, you give those Bubble Busters and Haters one point over you. However, with every victory, no matter how small – with every inch moved forward towards your goal ... know that you are that much closer to being or doing who or what you want to be.

And when you reach that goal ... Once you’ve become successful, allow yourself some time to gloat (however – and this is VERY important) gloat on the inside. You see, the Universe is very fickle, and if it bestows a blessing upon you and you don’t seem to appear grateful and humble, that blessing can be taken from you just as quickly if not even quicker than it was given to you.

With every book I’ve sold, I have succeeded. With every pair of hands that applauds at the end of one of my speeches – hell ... with every standing ovation I get, I have succeeded.

Don’t run from those who would stand in your way of you becoming the success you dream of. Confront them. Use them. Turn their BULL into the fertilizer you need to enrich your dreams and goals and manifest them into reality.
